Varied works of art by Alma College students and alumni are on display in the opening exhibit of the 2017-18 Flora Kirsch Beck Gallery season.
The show features creations made from an assortment of materials, including prints, wire, ceramics, stoneware paint and glaze.
One work cuts and pastes portions from the famous works of other artists into a unique new image. Other pieces focus on the textures of their materials that range from ribbon to pencil shavings. Also on display are photographs of Alma College that artfully capture some of the campus’ more desolate moments.
The exhibit continues through Thursday, Oct. 5. Admission is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
A closing reception with the artists will take place in the gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5.
