Great Scots: Doug Dice, Brandon Smith
The work of Alma’s facilities staff keeps the campus safe, efficient, clean and beautiful.
Dice, director of facilities and service management, manages a staff of approximately 60 full-time employees responsible for keeping the campus safe, efficient, clean and beautiful. He joined the staff in 2008.
“In addition to the important day-to-day work of maintaining college facilities, overseeing new construction and planning deferred maintenance priorities, they have been instrumental in the planning of several projects that will be critical to the future of Alma College,” wrote Abernathy in his monthly update to the campus.
Dice and Smith recently helped prepare Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for an initiative that will lead to the identification of an architect and contractor for future work related to campus renovations and master plan construction.
President Abernathy periodically presents the Great Scot Award to members of the faculty and staff for “excellence in service to Alma College.”
