Over a two-week period, Rhonda Linn collaborated with faculty and staff across campus to hold 29 events that involved 1,500 participants — “an impressive outcome,” according to President Jeff Abernathy.
Rhonda Linn, this month’s Great Scot, has expanded Alma College’s career program since her arrival in January and actively worked to facilitate more internship opportunities for students.
Her efforts were most noted in the weeks leading up to Alma’s annual Career Explo, the finale event of Career Week.
“Rhonda took the lead in organizing and expanding the opportunities for sharing career information,” said President Jeff Abernathy in his monthly update to campus. “Over a two-week period, she collaborated with faculty and staff across campus to hold 29 events that involved 1,500 participants — an impressive outcome.”
Career Explo, where alumni share their career experiences and advice with current students, had significantly increased numbers of presenters and student participants this year, according to Karen Klumpp, director of the Center for Student Opportunity.
Linn has participated in and/or led other events as well, including the senior career-preparation survey, the Sophomore All Class Conference and many other initiatives.
President Abernathy periodically presents the Great Scot Award to members of the faculty and staff for “excellence in service to Alma College.”
