Public Affairs Institute Receives Grant

The Public Affairs Institute received a grant in 2014 to support promotion of understanding of cooperative enterprises in Michigan.

The Public Affairs Institute received a grant in 2014 to support promotion of understanding of cooperative enterprises in Michigan. Cooperative enterprises are institutions such as credit unions, rural electric power providers and worker and producer owned enterprises. A number of Alma students have worked for organizations, such as the Mid-America Cooperative Council or presented at meetings from the state to the international level to promote cooperatives as a way to address economic and social problems in Michigan. On May 25, 2016 Ed Lorenz, PAF Director, participated in a panel discussion on cooperative education efforts at the International Cooperative Alliance’s 2016 Research Conference in Almeria, Spain.
