Good Grief! Musical Features ‘Peanuts’ Characters
Alma College theatre and dance students present the musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised)” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25 in the Remick Heritage Center, Strosacker Theatre.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised)” is a fresh approach to the original 1967 classic. Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Snoopy in this version that documents “an average day in the life of Charlie Brown.” It really is just that – a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine’s Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends – both human and nonhuman.
Based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schultz, the play is directed by Mike Sheldon, with musical direction by Casey Robards and choreography by Kristen Bennett. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors 62 and up, and free for Alma College staff, students and youth 18 and under. Seating is reserved. Call (989) 463-7304 for ticket information.
