The Alma College Choirs and Chamber Orchestra join forces to perform one of the world’s great musical masterpieces – “The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace”

Composed in 1999 by British composer Karl Jenkins to commemorate the millennium, the first movement of the work reference a popular medieval song “L’Homme Armé.” The composer, Jenkins, draws his message of peace from movements of the Latin Mass and the poetry of Rudyard Kipling; Jonathan Swift; Alfred, Lord Tennyson; and Toge Sankichi – a Japanese poet and survivor of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

Tickets: $15 adults, $7 seniors 62+; Alma College staff, students and youth 18 and under are free; seating is reserved.
