Movement in Music with Big Gemini

Big Gemini is a Mexican American Rapper. He will be joining us to cap off Hispanic Heritage Month and describe his journey to becoming a rapper and how his identity has shaped his art. He will also perform songs that marked different stages of his process.  

Big Gemini, otherwise known as Chris Dominguez, is a self described “hardcore Chicano” rapper who is known for his pop-rap singles including “Crazy For You” and “Hypnotized”, as well as for being part of the supergroup Gamebreakerz. He will be joining us to cap off our Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations and describe his journey becoming a well-known rapper touching on how his identity as a Mexican American has shaped his art, his process, and his challenges. Along the way, he will perform some key songs that marked different stages of his process. To segue into Native American Heritage Month in November, Chris will speak to his experiences working with tribes to create meaningful music and his experience of Native American and Mexican cultural exchange.
