Pre-Health Advising Session: Introduction to the Application Process for Health Profession Graduate Programs

3:00pm - 4:00pm EDT November 5

Location: Swanson Academic Center (SAC), SAC 113

Introduction to the Application Process for Health Profession Graduate Programs

All 3rd and 4th year pre-health students who plan on applying to a health profession graduate program should join the pre-health professions committee (PHPC) for a discussion of the application program and the process for obtaining a letter of evaluation from the committee.

The committee will discuss your application process.  We will cover completing a Declaration of Intent to Apply with the committee, discuss creating your application with the centralized application service for your particular area, and introduce the letter of evaluation process.  This is a very important meeting for all 3rd and 4th year pre-health students who plan on applying to dental, medical, optometry, PA, PT, OT, pharmacy, and veterinary schools.

Join the PHPC to learn of the mentoring opportunities and the process for obtaining a committee letter of evlauation that will accompany your application to a health profession graduate program.  We will discuss the process and the timeline for your application process.

We will also discuss the other workshops that will help you prepare your application and prepare for the application process.

Individuals who plan to apply to a health profession graduate program and are unable to attend should e-mail Dr. Nancy Dopke (ndopke@alma.edu) to ensure that they get the link to the committee declaration of intent to apply form for students who plan to apply in a future application cycle and to ensure that they have access to the Pre-Health Professions Resources Canvas page.  Students who are applying in the 2022-2023 application cycle are particularly implored to attend.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Dopke at ndopke@alma.edu.
