7:00pm EST February 16
Host: Dr. Matthew Collins, Library Director
Dr. Collin’s book selection for February is Beholden: Religion, Global Health, and Human Rights by Susan R. Holman (2016 Grawemeyer Award for Religion, as the best new book in Religion)
This month’s Literary Society group will meet every other Tuesday - Feb. 2, Feb. 16, and Mar. 2. Please only sign-up if you are able to attend all three of the sessions.
Dr. Collins shared this perspective regarding his choice:
“I chose Susan Holman’s Beholden because her approach to global healthcare seems especially important right now. Holman brings together health care, religion, and human rights in an integrated approach that challenges our notions of charity and public health. Beholden is well written, covering a complex topic in a very readable way.”
