MLK Virtual Poetry Night

Join us as we reflect on legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King by performing your original poetry or someone else’s work at our spoken word poetry night.

Join us as we reflect on the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King by performing your original poetry or someone else’s work at our spoken word poetry night. Your poems can reflect on the themes revolving around activism, resistance, oppression, liberation, revolution, and justice or what MLK means to you. All levels of skill and experience are welcome. Memorization of the poem is not required. There will be an open mic portion at the end for people to perform without signing up.

This event will be hosted by Alma College’s English department and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Our performers and audience will be fully virtual using Zoom.
