Location: Microsoft Teams
In Safe Zone 101, participants learn the basic terminology and some foundational information about LGBTQ+ identity including coming out and the difference between gender and sexuality. This training is open to anyone in the campus community.
The goal of Safe Zone training is to educate the campus community and increase awareness of LGBTQ+ identity and issues. It’s also designed to provide a visible support network that is inclusive and welcoming of all members of the Alma College community, regardless of sexual identity, gender identity or gender expression. Each Safe Zone member has a Safe Zone sticker that they can place on their office or room door as a visible sign that they can provide a safe space and be a resource for support.
