Ice Cream and Inclusion: Everyday Ways of Being Responsible Stewards
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion invites students, faculty, and staff to our end-of-the year ice cream social and conversation with Alma College alumnus Kevin Hofmann.
Hofmann ’89 will discuss the everyday actions we can take to promote inclusion on campus and prepare ourselves to “live responsibly as stewards of our [ever-changing] world.”
Hofmann is an accomplished writer and public speaker who has a passion for adoption and especially Transracial adoption and enjoys sharing his experience as a biracial Transracial adoptee to help other adoptive families. In Hofmann’s memoir, Growing Up Black in White, he discussed his experience as a person of color on Alma’s campus. The book is presently used as part of several college curricula in schools of social work and multiculturalism. Because his story also addresses the impact of race and culture in our society, he uses his story to create open discussion on race and culture as well.
