Study Rooms
The reason all those student are walking ‘the circuit’ around the library every night, with resolute looks on their faces…
Alma College faculty, staff and students have access to the Library Study Rooms for informal group and individual use.
- Three study rooms are located near the cafe’ on the Main Floor. These rooms are generally not reservable, but may be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Each room contains a large monitor, or MediaScape unit, for collaborative work. Each of these rooms also has a white board, a table, and seating for 4 people.
- Four small study rooms are located in the Lower Level of the library. These rooms are generally not reservable, and can be used by others on a first-come, first-served basis. Each of these small rooms has a white board, a table and seating for 4 people.
- Two larger study rooms are located in the Lower Level of the library, along the North wall. These rooms each have blackboards, a table, and seating for 6 people and are reservable, by signing up on the clipboard at the Main Desk. Only groups can reserve these rooms, and each group is limited to 2 hours per day.
- Next to the large basement study rooms is the MacCurdy Room. It also has a large monitor. It can be reserved, after 5 pm and on weekends, by signing up on the clipboard at the Main Desk. Only groups can reserve these rooms, and each group is limited to 2 hours per day.
- One study room is located on the Upper Level of the library, in the Colina Wing. This room is not reservable, but can be used on a first-come, first-served basis. This room has a chalk board and seating for 5 people.
- The study rooms and the MacCurdy Room are not for use as classrooms for regularly scheduled courses for an entire term.
