The five-movement work of The Lighthouse Keeper shares glimpses of memories throughout a friendship, including the loss of it. It is a powerful universal expression of a life shared in friendship, reminding all of us that all we really have, when all is said and done, is each other. Lux Aeterna concludes the concert; this choral cycle contains references to Light, assembled from various sacred Latin texts. Lauridsen composed this in response to his mother’s final illness, using Light as a universal symbol of illumination at all levels – spiritual, artistic and intellectual. Tickets: $15 adults; $7 seniors 62+; Alma College staff, students and youth 18 and under are free; seating is reserved. For reservations go to https://alma.universitytickets.com/
