How will my credits transfer?

From financial aid and scholarship opportunities to accumulated credits and athletics accomplishments, Alma College takes it all into consideration. We’re also the only college in Michigan with a commitment that ensures you’ll graduate on time. Here, transfer students don’t start over, they get started. 

Our Transfer Checklist will guide you through the basic steps of learning about Alma, applying, and finalizing your transfer credits.

Admissions Criteria

The Alma College Admissions Office admits transfer students who have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 in college coursework and have completed 25 post high school graduation college credits. If you have less than 25 credits, you may still be admitted to Alma using different materials.

You must complete a minimum of 52 credits at Alma College to earn a bachelor’s degree.

How to Apply 

Please submit the following materials to be considered for admission.

  1. A completed application for admission. Our online application is free but you can also use the Common Application.
  2. A 250-word essay that can be uploaded or typed directly into our free application or the Common Application.
  3. Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. If you have less than 25-post high school college credits, please submit your official high school transcript.
How will my credits transfer? 
  • Alma College accepts courses:
    • taken at a regionally accredited institution at the 100-level or above
    • graded with a “C” or higher
