Career EXPLO takes place on Friday, September 20, 2019 3:00-5:00 p.m. in Art Smith Arena


The Center for Student Opportunity is excited to host the 10th Annual Career EXPLO as a kick-off to the Homecoming festivities! This event connects our successful alumni and other professionals with students and young alumni who are exploring their career options.

Who should participate: Current Alma College students and recent Alma alumni from all majors. Employers, including alumni of Alma College, and graduate school representatives who would like to share information on their career path, company/organization or industry or open job and internship position with current students and recent alumni.

Student Information

Students and young alumni are encouraged to dress professionally and bring 10-15 copies of their resume. Need help with your resume? Check the Alma College Calendar for our workshop schedule or make an appointment with the Career Peer Advisors, who are available Monday-Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the CSO. We also offer free professional headshots at EXPLO. Be sure to attend our Career Week events to best prepare!

What’s involved:  The event is set up as a career fair. Employers and graduate schools are stationed at tables for students and alumni to visit. Opportunities available include:

  • Available jobs, internships, and networking 
  • Free head shots 
  • Business card printing 
  • Quick resume reviews
  • Career fair guidance from our alumni hosts 
  • Refreshments

There is no cost to attend Career Explo and organizations will receive the following: 

  • One 6’ table with a table covering and 2 chairs
  • Electrical outlet access, if requested (limited availability)
  • Parking in a reserved lot (limited availability)
  • Refreshments will be provided

Employer Sponsorship Opportunities Available
While there is no fee associated with our career fair, we do accept Employer Sponsors. From $100 to have your organization included on all marketing materials, to our Tartan level which gives organizations premium placement, VIP parking, and more—there are plenty of options to choose from!

Interested employers should indicate so on the registration form and then make your contribution at our Giving page. Please select “Other (program, department or team)” in the Designation field and enter “Career Explo Corporate Sponsor” in the Specify Designation field.

Handshake is the largest college recruitment platform used currently by over 700 institutions across the United States. If you do not have a Handshake account but would like to make one please visit their article on creating an employer account
