Career Explo 2020

The Center for Student Opportunity is excited to host the 11th annual Career EXPLO! This year, for the first time ever, we’ll host EXPLO in a virtual format! This event connects our successful alumni and other professionals with students and alumni who are exploring their career options.

When: Friday, October 9, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (EST)

Who should participate: Current Alma College students and recent Alma alumni from all majors. Employers, including alumni of Alma College, and graduate school representatives who would like to share information on their career path, company/organization or industry or open job and internship position with current students and recent alumni.

 

Student Information

Students and alumni are encouraged to dress professionally and have a digital copy of their resume ready to share. Need help with your resume? Check the Alma College Calendar for our workshop schedule or schedule an appointment on Handshake to review with a member of the Career & Personal Development team. Be sure to attend our Career Week events to best prepare!

What’s involved: The event is set up as a virtual career fair. Employers and graduate schools will be available for virtual meetings, both one-on-one or in groups. Opportunities available include:

  • Available jobs, internships, and networking
  • One-on-one virtual meetings with employers (10 minutes)
  • Group sessions with employers
  • Free head shots Monday of Career Week

To register, please visit Handshake. To participate in the virtual fair, it will be required for each participant from an organization to create a Handshake account.

Event Details:

  • There is no cost to register for or attend Career EXPLO.
  • Employers can build their schedule to include 10-minute 1:1 virtual meetings with job seekers
  • Employers can build their schedule to include up to three (3) 30-minute virtual group sessions with job seekers

Employer Sponsorship Opportunities Available

While there is no fee associated with our career fair, we do accept Employer Sponsors. From our $100 Teal level sponsor, which will get your organization included on all marketing materials and digital ads around campus, to our $500 Maroon level sponsor which gives you premium opportunities to partner on events and make in-person connections—there are options for everyone!

Interested employers should indicate so on the registration form and then make your contribution at our Giving page. In the Designation field, please select “Other (program, department or team)” and enter “Career Explo Corporate Sponsor” in the Specify Designation field.
