Alma Symphony Orchestra

Our collegial group of students, community members and professionals delight in performing a wide repertoire of traditional and modern compositions each season.

The Alma Symphony Orchestra provides instrumentalists with an exciting and rewarding orchestral experience. Each season offers artistic challenges, and we achieve high-quality performances while maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable rehearsal atmosphere.

We perform four main concerts a year in the beautiful Oscar E. Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Alma College. Directed by Dr. Jonathan Spatola-Knoll, the ASO is an ideal opportunity for students at all levels to experience the thrill of playing in a fine orchestra. Students may also win the opportunity to solo with the ASO by participating in the Student Concerto Competition.  The 2018-2019 concert dates include:

Concert I:    Scandinavian Classics on Sunday, October 21, 2018, 4:00 p.m.

Concert II:   Tchaikovsky’s “Little Russian” Symphony on Sunday, December 2, 2018, 4:00 p.m.
