High School Math Challenge

The Alma College High School Math Challenge is a problem of the month program specifically designed for high school students by the department of mathematics and computer science.

About the Challenge

Each month a new problem is distributed to participating high schools. Students who think they have solved the problem can submit their solutions to our department for evaluation. At the end of the month, we will select a solution that we judge to be among the best and publish it (giving credit to the solver) in the next month’s Math Challenge.

As a small prize, the student whose solution is selected for publication will receive an Alma College t-shirt. A list of all students who submit correct solutions will be published as well.

Each month’s problem is due back to Tim Sipka by the last day of that problem’s month. New problem will be posted on the first day of each month, along with the previous month’s solution.
