Amber Herman has been a registered nurse since 1995. After graduating from Mid Michigan Community College she worked in a variety of settings including: urgent care, family practice, OB GYN, and plasmapheresis.

Maggie Ross, PA

Maggie Ross graduated from Kenyon College in 1996 and from CMU's physician assistant program in 1999. She worked in Traverse City, specializing in gastroenterology for four years, before returning to the Mid-Michigan Area where she worked in two family practice offices during the past four years.

Dr. Gerrit Vanderlugt, D.O.

Dr. Vanderlugt received his medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, MO (DO, 1979), and completed his internship at Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend, IN. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of General Practice. He has been a team physician for Alma College since 1983.

Since graduating from Alma College, Kristin Bender-Polizzi ’95 has co-founded the Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre in Florida. The dance company, which she manages, features about a dozen professionally trained dancers, including Bender-Polizzi herself.

“As a shy young girl, dance was a means of expressing myself,” she says. “I was always more comfortable speaking through movement than with my voice. I love that dance is a universal language open to so many interpretations.”
