2008 Winter Hours

Monday-Thursday

10:00-11:00am Water Aerobics, 11:00am-1:00pm Open Swim;

6:15-7:15pm Water Aerobics, 7:15-9:00pm Open Swim

Friday

10:00-11:00 am Water Aerobics, 11:00am- 1:00pm Open Swim

Saturday & Sunday

1:00-5:00p.m. 

Cost for daily pool use is: $3 for adults and $2 for kids under 16.

Pool Memberships

Memberships to the Alma Pool can be purchased at the Stone Recreation Center, 989-463-7949. Memberships are for 1-year.

Water Aerobics

Senior Fitness - Monday-Friday 10:00-11:00am

To participate in Senior Fitness Water Aerobics contact Robyn Anderson in the EHS Office, 989-463-7159. You will need to fill out paperwork and purchase a restricted participation cards for $25.

General Water Aerobics – Monday-Thursday 6:15-7:15pm

General Water Aerobics is open to anyone and costs $1.00 per session.

Pool Reservations

For group reservations and parties, contact Tracy Howd at howd@alma.edu or 989-463-7066, to receive information on scheduling. Cost for rental is $70 per hour.

Alma Student Groups should contact Chris Hamstra at hamstra@alma.edu or 989-463-7323 to reserve pool.  Cost for rental is the cost of two lifeguards.

Swimming Lessons

The Alma College Swimming and Diving Team teaches the swim lessons. The purpose of the lessons are to give individualized instruction to children and adults. The program is for all ages. Classes last 30 minutes. For more information contact Channing Kimball at 989-463-7323 or Kimball@alma.edu.

Alma’s “green” residence hall, Wright Hall, was completed in January 2005. The modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.
