Welcome to the Alma College Parent Association

Dear Parent of Current or Prospective Student: Welcome to the Alma College Parent Board page of the Alma College website. We hope that you will find herein answers to questions you may have as a parent. If you do not find answers to the questions you have, you may contact the Parent Board by e-mail and someone will address your concerns.

The Alma College Parent Board is a group of parents who work on behalf of the college and the parents to make the experiences of our students as rewarding and fulfilling as possible. Each class at the college is represented by three parent units. There are thus 12 parent units who make up the board. A copy of the constitution and by-laws is available at this site. All parents are a member of the Parent Association and are thereby eligible to serve on one of the standing committees.

At Alma College, our students, faculty and staff work together to create a learning environment that becomes a way of life. College is a significant growth experience for a young person and as a result the relationship with the parent grows also. For this reason, we believe that an active Parent Board provides a resource to the college and the student as that journey unfolds. We invite all parents to become involved in the life of the college through attendance at cultural, athletic and academic events. We encourage you to visit the college often, eat in our dining rooms, visit our residence halls and engage in dialogue with your son or daughter and their friends about the journey they are taking. In many ways the patterns of discovery, learning and socializing will stay with them the rest of their lives. Get to know what they are doing and find ways in which you can be supportive. It is a great place to build additional foundations for life.

We hope you find this site helpful. Do not hesitate to contact the Parent Board by e-mail if you would like to ask a question or if you have a specific concern.
