Being a resident assistant in Mitchell Hall for the past two years has changed Canton senior Maricat Eggenberger.
Not only has she become a more confident and assertive person, she has learned a lot about time management.

Having the opportunity to meet new people is what Eggenberger says she enjoys most about being a RA.
“Being a RA requires balance,” says the business administration and communication studies major. “Being on duty and being there for your residents but also having to do your homework is the best way to learn how to manage time.”
She got to know her residents this past year through an impromptu euchre tournament.
“Usually for events, you have to plan and put up flyers,” she says. “My hall was really eager to do activities, so I didn’t have to do that for this.”
Eggenberger has been able to flex her RA skills off campus as well.
“Every interview I’ve had, I always bring up my position as a RA,” she says. “I recently completed an internship in Philadelphia, where I planned events, and I was able to draw from my experience as a RA.”
