A Little History...

The four halls that make up South Complex, Carey, Bonbright, Nisbet and Brazell, were built in 1970. Carey and Bonbright share one entrance and Nisbet and Brazell share the other.

We're wired for online computer access and are co-ed by suite (two rooms connected by one bathroom).

All the halls are named for former members of the Board of Trustees - Walter F. Carey, Carl W. Bonbright, Stephen S. Nisbet (also an Alma alumnus) and Reid Brazell.

Since 2003, twenty-seven Alma College students have won prestigious national fellowships, scholarships and awards, including 15 Fulbright fellowships and multiple Truman, Udall, and Gates-Cambridge scholarships.

Spring Term courses offer students opportunities to break out of the “Alma Bubble.” Off-campus study, especially in a foreign country, shows you how you relate to the rest of the world and how the rest of the world views American people, politics and policies. You can then integrate your real world experiences into your academic programs and your future career.
