A Message from the Hall Director...

Welcome to Gelston Hall!

First off, thank you for considering Gelston Hall as your home away from home! Gelston is one of the most historically rich buildings on Alma’s campus and home to more than 200 of Alma’s first-year and upperclassmen students.

While Gelston is the largest residence hall on campus, it also houses some of the warmest communities to be a part of. No matter what you’re into or where you’re from, you’ll feel at home and part of the Gelston community.

As the oldest residence hall on Alma’s campus, Gelston has several traditions that continue to this day. These Gelston traditions have included an all-Gelston BBQ in the spring and a Halloween decorating contest for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Some other key selling points of Gelston:

Gelston is directly connected to Tyler Van Dusen and Joe’s for easy access to food—something definitely to think about during those chilly Michigan winters.
  • Gelston has the largest rooms on campus.
  • Gelston has a top-notch staff, including RA’s trained to make your experience living in the residence halls more enjoyable.

I hope you’ve found this information helpful. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about Gelston or Student Life at Alma. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,
Katelyn Moy Lapham
