Part IV: National Organizations

Order of Omega
The Order of Omega is a national Leadership Honor Society. Alma College's Nu Gamma chapter was chartered during the 1992-93 school year. The Purpose of the Order of Omega is threefold.

First, to recognize those students who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-Greek activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar attainment.

Second, to bring together the most representative fraternity and sorority members, and to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate affairs.

Third, to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness.

Membership in this organization is prestigious and involvement in all aspects of Greek and non-Greek Life are considered during the selection process. Applications will be made available to all Junior and Senior members of the Greek community attaining a GPA above the all-Greek average. In addition, several other minimum qualifications must be met in order to be considered for membership.

Alma is one of only 100 colleges and universities to be named to the Templeton Honor Roll in the Templeton Guide: Colleges That Encourage Character Development.
