Weddings

Dunning Memorial Chapel is a beautiful location for weddings. The Chapel hosts many weddings throughout the year for both members of the campus community and for those who are not affiliated with the College.

Visit the Chapel

The Alma College Chapel is open from 8 AM to 5 PM during the week and is closed for major holidays. The building is often used for college events such as choir rehearsals. For information about visiting the chapel, please call the Chapel Office at 989-463-7981 or email soto@alma.edu. The Chapel offices are located in the lower level of the building.

Reserving the Chapel

All arrangements for reserving the chapel for weddings are made through the office of Human Resources and Conferences. These arrangements include checking dates, making special arrangments and paying fees. Weddings in the Chapel are often scheduled 12 months in advance. To see what dates are available please contact Tracy Howd by calling 989-463-70664 or emailing . Due to school activities and conferences throughout the year your reserved date will not be confirmed until three (3) months before the date of the wedding.

The Facility
Dunning Memorial Chapel seats 350 people in the nave and 40 in the balcony. A ramp is provided on the west side of the building. Restrooms and dressing rooms are located on the lower level accessible by stairs only. The building is not air conditioned, but does have ceiling fans. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in the Chapel.

Alma’s off-campus study programs do more than place students in exciting locales to meet interesting people; they also create new opportunities for personal growth and skill development. One of the best ways to learn about other societies and cultures is to study and travel in international settings. You do not always have to know a foreign language.
