Why I got involved in Chapel: I got involved in Chapel because religious life has always been important to me and Chapel is no different. Chapel has been a place for me to strengthen my relationship with God, but also to join in a community of Christians on campus. The friends that I have met and gotten to know through Chapel have been wonderful and dare I say lifelong friends.

Why I applied to be a SMC: I applied to be a SMC because when I first arrived on campus, the first people that I saw were SMCs. I said, “Wow, I would love to be one of those crazy people!!!!!” Being an SMC allows me to be a part of Chapel at a leadership position and work with people to make Chapel the best that it can be.

What I like most about being a SMC/involved in Chapel: I guess my favorite part of being a SMC is working with wonderful people in Ministry Teams and being involved in the work to make Chapel a great and inspiring place to learn and worship God. My favorite part of Chapel would be all the fun events that allow us to hang with our friends and act silly.

The biggest thing I’ve learned so far being an SMC: The biggest thing I have learned is how to work with people. Not everyone will agree with you or even see your point of view, but in order to get things done you must know how to listen to people and compromise.

Why I recommend other students get involved in Chapel: I would recommend getting involved with Chapel because you get to meet really cool people and have an amazing time at both Chapel services and at fellowship time..

Hobbies and activities: I am involved in Relay for Life and Colleges against Cancer. I am Vice President of Interfaith Council on campus. I also work at the admissions office. I love to read, mostly for fun, and cook.

The Smith Arena, the new addition to the Hogan Center, serves as the primary venue for commencement, convocations, major speakers, concerts, athletics and other major events.
