Why I got involved with Chapel: Being a Pastor’s Kid, Christianity has always played a large part in my life. God has shown me his wonders throughout my life. I decided after my high school graduation to continue my faith journey at Alma College by attending Chapel.

Why I applied to be a SMC: I applied to be a SMC because I have come to love the people at Chapel. I wish to contribute more to Chapel and make it a place where everyone could feel accepted, have fun and learn more about God together.

What I like most about being involved in Chapel: My favorite part about Chapel is the people. No matter how tired you may be from school, the people that come together in Christ share their spiritual energy with each other and revitalizes you for the rest of the week.

The biggest thing i’ve learned so far as an SMC: So far, I have learned about the hard work that is put into all the events and worship planning for Chapel. SMCs Work so hard to make Chapel and better place, and is pays off! Even if you feel out of place the first time at Chapel, the experience only gets better with every service and fellowship event. The SMC creates an environment where your background doesn't matter, and we love each other because we all share God’s love.

Hobbies and activities: I love creating with other people. Whether it be art work or planning events, collaborating with other people is one of my favorite things to do. Also, I like to day dream whenever I get the chance. It is a way for me to relax and collect myself after a stressful day.

Alma’s innovative PRISM project—Positive Routes Into Science and Mathematics—gets more students excited about science. It engages students in research opportunities not only in their first, second, third and fourth years of college but also in the summer prior to taking their first college course. PRISM is funded by a $500,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.
