Why I got involved in Chapel: I love being with other Christians celebrating our faith together. It’s a community where good friends can be found in an environment of building each other up.

Why I applied to be a SMC: I wanted to have an active role in religious life to help build a stronger community of faith.

What I like most about being a SMC/involved in Chapel: I have the best job. I get to lead worship and look out and see all of the students singing and praising God because of what He has done in their lives. It’s a wonderful experience.

The biggest thing I’ve learned since becoming a SMC: I’ve learned to remain open to new ideas and different styles of worship.

Why I recommend other students get involved in Chapel: The chapel body is so diverse that it creates an energy and liveliness because we are all from different backgrounds, but we come together because of our great God.

Hobbies and activities: Hanging out with friends.

The Alma College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has won 11 consecutive regional championships. The competition awards the SIFE teams that are most effective in teaching the principles of market economics through outreach projects in their communities. Last year’s team presented 12 projects, including teaching ethics and entrepreneurship skills to students at a juvenile detention center and launching an entrepreneurship competition for students with business ideas.
