Why I got involved with Chapel: God has been a huge part of my life since I can remember. I got involved with Chapel because I wanted to continue to serve and worship Him while in college. I stayed involved because God placed amazing people in my life through Chapel. I have made amazing friends here!

Why I applied to be a SMC: I applied to be an SMC because I felt that I could use the skills that God has given me to bring new ideas to the chapel and to help grow the community.

What I like most about being a SMC: My favorite part of being an SMC is being able to get to know even more people through meeting new volunteers and greeting people at the door.

What I like most about being involved in Chapel: My favorite part of Chapel is being a part of such a great community.

Why I recommend other students get involved in Chapel: I would recommend that other students get involved in Chapel because there is something here for everyone! Whether you are looking for a bible study, a place to volunteer or just to meet new friends, there are so many opportunities!

Hobbies and activities: AC Women’s Bowling team, running, working with children.

The Alma College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has won 11 consecutive regional championships. The competition awards the SIFE teams that are most effective in teaching the principles of market economics through outreach projects in their communities. Last year’s team presented 12 projects, including teaching ethics and entrepreneurship skills to students at a juvenile detention center and launching an entrepreneurship competition for students with business ideas.

Major: International Business and French

After Glenn Fischer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international business and French, Europe was his destination. His skills quickly landed him a job in consulting in Germany, where he currently lives.

“At Alma, I learned how to put my own, unique vision on the line and explain that vision to my peers,” he says. “It’s the same in the corporate worlds. You can craft a solution for an existing model, or you can create something entirely unique.”
