Fitness Classes

Want to get in shape but are unsure how to get there? Join one of our fitness classes!

The Stone Recreation Center offers a variety of fitness classes and instructional DVD’s that can be useful to anyone’s work-out agenda. All classes are free of charge to members and students. So give one of the classes below a shot as they are a great way to stay in shape meet new people!

Classes are only offered when Alma College students are in session. Fall Term will start September 2nd.

Zumba

Monday and Thursday 5pm - 6pm

Forget the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape at the original dance-fitness party. Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you’ll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating. Our Zumba classes are led by Tincy Goggin. Come in and give it a shot! 

Yoga/Pilates

Monday through Thursday 8am - 9am

Yoga/Pilates is another fun class that will help you burn even more calories. These classes require students to hold complex poses, offering an intense workout. Classes like this will teach you how to perfect a plank pose and other mind/body postures provide significant health and fitness benefits beyond a high-calorie burn. This class is taught by Patty Herblet.
