Graphic Design. Art 230.
More Details:
Traditionally, graphic design is defined as problem solving on a flat two-dimensional surface. Today
designers are in transition and redefining their roles as three-dimensional and four-dimensional (time
based) requirements introduced by technology enter the realm of communication and advertisement. In all
cases, graphic design communicates a specific message to a specific audience within a set of limitations
due to financial, physical, or psychological considerations. In this course we will consider principles and
theories of basic design, layout, and typography, examine how we perceive shapes on two-dimensional
surfaces, consider concept development, and the use of the computer as an aid or tool to giving voice to
your concepts.
