Frank Knox’s accomplishments are extraordinary: From fighting alongside Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders and publishing the Chicago Daily News vice presidential candidate in 1936 to Secretary of the Navy under Franklin D. Roosevelt. Through it all, the 1912 graduate stayed true to his Alma College roots. His portrait adorns the conference room in the Reid-Knox Administration Building.

Nicole Rohrkemper

Nicole Rohrkemper
Graduation: 2005
Major: Economics

World peace may seem too big a stretch for some, but Alma College alumna Nicole Rohrkemper is willing to extend an olive branch wherever she can.

As the International Peace Teams Deployment Coordinator for the Michigan Peace Team, she recruits and deploys groups for nonviolent intervention in war and conflict zones.

β€œI have always been fascinated by other cultures and far-off places, and I have a passion for international travel,” says Rohrkemper, who graduated in 2005. β€œIn the past 10 years, I have spent time in Argentina, Thailand, Germany, Switzerland, Jordan and many other countries.”
