I will be using this grant to conduct research in the legal materials housed at the Massachusetts State Archives in Boston. This research will be instrumental as I complete my monograph in progress.
Alma College is among the top 40 baccalaureate institutions in the country for the percentage of students who choose to study abroad, according to a report published by the Institute for International Education. Among Alma’s graduates in the 2009–10 academic year, 61.4 percent participated in study abroad, which ranked 37th in the nation.

Caitlin Borchard ’07 is happy to celebrate Alma College’s Scottish roots, but she also loves her Greek connections.
“I decided to go through recruitment into Greek life just for fun and ended up finding my home in Alpha Xi Delta,” she says. “Not only did I make lifelong friendships, it gave me so many leadership opportunities and really helped me come out of my shell.”
