More Details:

Was awarded a program of study at the Tiputini Biodiversity Station in eastern Ecuador, Northwest Amazon (Jan, 2009). The grant (Travel, food, lodging and all supplies) is provided and supported by the Boston University School of Education (Science Education Program) and allows up to 10 science educators from around the nation to study along side other one another in the Tuputini Rain Forrest. The intent is to allow science educators look at the biodiversity and conservation efforts there and then to bring that knowledge back to their specific science curriculums at their respective colleges.

Dr. George Choksy

Dr. George Choksy
Departments: Economics

Associate professor of economics George Choksy doesn’t think of teaching as a job but as a calling.

“I taught at five different colleges and universities for the first ten years of my career,” he says. “I kept moving around because I knew I could do better, find a better school. When Alma and I found each other, we knew it was a marriage made in heaven.”
