This three hour workshop focused on the curricular materials begin developed for the teaching of introductory object oriented computer programming as part of the LMICSE project, which is supported by a National Science Foundation grant.

 

Alma’s innovative PRISM project—Positive Routes Into Science and Mathematics—gets more students excited about science. It engages students in research opportunities not only in their first, second, third and fourth years of college but also in the summer prior to taking their first college course. PRISM is funded by a $500,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.

Alice Sova-Stoneback ’04 first studied French as a high school student. Now, she’s back in high school teaching it.

“French is my first love,” she says. “My grandmother is a native of France, and I still have immediate family who live there. Being a French major was a great way to apply this background.”
