Alma College Percussion Studio/Hohner Institute of Percussion.  "Summer Percussion Workshop."  Middle and High School percussionists from across the State..  Alma College Campus.

This two-week workshop, held annually since 2002, focuses on all aspects of percussion performance. The workshop features classes on how to perform on the various percussion instruments, clinic presentations by world-renowned percussionists, two public concerts by the Alma College Percussion Ensemble in conjunction with the guest percussionists and two closing concerts by students attending the workshop. The workshop is also an official YAMAHA "Sounds of Summer" event.

 

Alma College’s sports teams have been known as the “Scots” since 1931 when Alma students voted on the name. Soon thereafter, “Scotty” emerged as Alma’s official mascot and is regularly seen on campus, in the community and at athletics events.

Major: Integrative Physiology and Health Science

Middleville sophomore Taylor Tripp has always known that she wanted to be a pediatrician. Choosing a major at Alma College, however, required a little more thought.

“When I came to Alma on a college visit, Dr. Ball and I talked through all the different majors, and she helped me decide that IPHS was right for me,” she says. “Now, I’m in her office all the time, but she never gets sick of me! She’s always there to help me.”
