Research Interests

My primary concern is with photography's unique mark making system, often referred to as photo 'syntax,' in relationship to the aesthetics of a fine photographic print and metaphor as it applies to photography. I am also interested in the impact that digital art and photography has on photo syntax and metaphor.

Themes: Identity Issues based on culture, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and the landscape in relationship to social context specifically in the United States, Latin America and Europe (France, Spain and Italy).
