Utilizing experiential learning techniques in the classroom, including case studies and real-world application-based projects, allows maximum development of critical thinking and communication skills. Classes are team-centered, with experiential, team-based learning applications both inside and outside the classroom.

Distinguishing landmarks on Alma’s campus include the Posey Bench near the Hood Building, the Bishop Makarios Memorial Sculpture, the “Momentum” sculpture near the entrance to the Hogan Center, the Spirit Rock behind the Library, the Bahlke Field Gate, the Peace Poles in McIntyre Mall, and the Redman Gate along Superior Street that welcomes campus visitors.

Bob Devaney

Bob Devaney began his football career at Alma College, playing on the varsity for three years and earning a most valuable player award. His love for the game didn't vanish after graduation. He eventually became head coach at the University of Nebraska, where he created a legacy as one of the greatest coaches in collegiate football history.
