Photographer's Forum Magazine 33rd Annual College & High School photography Contest

Three Alma College art students, Ae-Leen (Erin) Chon, kelsey Irland-Wright and Bethann Morgan entered photographs from their Fall Art 232 Digital Imaging course and were selected as finalist for the international Photographer's Forum magazine 33rd Annual College and High School Photography contest, sponsored by Nikon, USA.

Judging over 16,700 images the jurors were: Steve LaVoie, Art Center College of Design; Linda Lowell, Santa Barbara City College; and Rob Winner, Brooks Institute of Photography. The finalist will be featured in the book Best of College and High School Photography 2013.

 

Distinguishing landmarks on Alma’s campus include the Posey Bench near the Hood Building, the Bishop Makarios Memorial Sculpture, the “Momentum” sculpture near the entrance to the Hogan Center, the Spirit Rock behind the Library, the Bahlke Field Gate, the Peace Poles in McIntyre Mall, and the Redman Gate along Superior Street that welcomes campus visitors.

“At Alma, you can hop right into what you want to do, and do it,” he says. “Dr. Gilbert, especially, encourages me to go for it. She always tells me, ‘If you have time to do it, then do it!’”
