More Details:

In addition to usual chair duties, this included significant preparation of options regarding new elementary education programs and leading the department through a collaborative process of new program development before writing the program to MDE standards. It included attending MDE meetings and workshops and reviewer conferences, and reviewing programs from other institutions. This year also involved the approval of our world langauage certification majors and minors (FRN, GRM, and SPN). This year also included the mentoring of new part-time office staff, orientation meetings for field instructors and new instructors/faculty, and the development of materials to guide faculty, instructors, and office staff through the responsibilities of the calendar year. I also supervised Grant discussions and implementation and supervised the development and piloting of Dispositions sheet for use with certification students.

In the more than 125 years since its founding, Alma College has stayed true to its roots by keeping its Scottish heritage alive. Today, Alma features a marching band clad in kilts, a Scottish dance troupe, a competitive pipe band and its own tartan. Each year, the College hosts the Alma Highland Festival and Games, which feature traditional Scottish games and revelry.
