Professionals exhibitions and artist are scheduled to come to the Flora Kirsch Beck Art Gallery throughout the academic year to increase student awareness on issues involving creating art and becoming a professional self sufficient artist in today's U. S. society and economy. This years schedule includes: Dan Burkholder, photographer known for his techniques using digital negatives to create exceptionally beautiful platinum/palladium prints. Also featured is Dottie Wassenaar, who creates incredible pastels and watercolor paintings of the areas landscapes.

 

Bob Devaney, a 1939 graduate of Alma College, went on to become known as one of the greatest coaches in collegiate football history. In his 11 years as head coach at Nebraska, Devaney produced 11 winning seasons with two national championships. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981. At Alma he played end and was the Scots’ Most Valuable Player in 1938.

Ronald Kapp

Ron Kapp taught more than 2,500 students during his 32 years at Alma College. Teaching was more than just a job for him, though. He took a genuine interest in impacting and shaping the lives of the students he taught. He helped enhance Alma's reputation through measures such as the Africa Fellowship Program and installing Phi Beta Kappa at the College.
