"Inventing Anne Bradstreet: Teaching Critical Thinking in a Survey Course."  American Literature Association.  San Francisco.  May 24, 2008.

More Details:

This paper is part of a panel on teaching early American Literature, organized by the Society of Early Americanists. The paper explores pedagogical solutions to the problem of teaching students to think critically about literary history, when they must, at the same time, rely heavily on the professor for the historical and cultural contexts that make the texts 'intelligible.'

More than one-third of all Alma students take part in at least one performance each year. The College offers majors in theatre, dance and music, but students of all majors may join in productions. The Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts is the region’s premier performing arts facility.
