Project NExT (New Experiences in Teaching) is a professional development program for new or recent Ph.D.s in the mathematical sciences. It addresses all aspects of an academic career: improving the teaching and learning of mathematics, engaging in research and scholarship, and participating in professional activities. Approximately 60 fellows are chosen every year from across the United States.

 

Wright Hall, Alma’s “green” residence hall, is a modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall that features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.

Dr. Robyn Anderson

Robyn Anderson grew up surrounded by athletics. Her father was a physical education teacher and owned a gymnastics club.

“Teaching and coaching was part of my life from the beginning as the entire family became involved with the business in one capacity or another,” the professor of exercise and health science says. “I love to teach, coach and learn, so these areas became my passion.”
