I have developed this course to explore epidemiologic techniques as related to the study of public health. In this course I continue to use a methodological innovation that entails interactive learning whereby, I present the new information and then the class interactively works through prepared exercises in order to immediately apply the new material. In addition, I have added the use of several new epidemiologic CD-Roms to help facilitate the learning of the complex information.

 

Since 2010, Alma College has added new majors in anthropology, new media studies, biotechnology, health care administration and environmental studies. The College also has completed several campus enhancements, including the Hogan Center, Art Smith Arena, Eddy Music Center and College Corner Coffee and Books.

“My graduate work in the 1980s was in a very hard-core gene cloning lab,” he says, “but I wanted to use my cloning skills and apply them to a more — for me — interesting field.”
