  • "You Must Remember This..." for large orchestra, was performed at Alma College on April 20 and 21, 2013. .  "You Must Remember This...."
  • The Alma College Percussion Ensemble premiered "John Cage Smiles," a work for nine percussionists on April 13, 2013..  "John Cage Smiles."
  • "Traffic," an electro-acoustic work chosen to be part of the 60x60 Environmental Mix, received its premiere on March 30, 2013, at Soka University of America in aliso Viejo, California..  "Traffic."
  • "Irrational Exuberance," for alto saxophone and piano, was heard in Dayton, Ohio on March 21, 2013..  "Irrational Exuberance."
  • "Under the Influence," a compact disc featuring eight chamber works by Murray Gross, was released on the Blue Griffin label in January 3013..  "Compact Disc - Under the Influence."

  • The music of Murray Gross has been heard twice in New York City in recent months..  "On January 29th the Bateira Trio (flute, viola, double bass) premiered "I can't quite remember," and on February 12th Shiau-uen Ding played the piano solo "Breaking the Rules."
  • Murray Gross has composed the soundtracks to two short animated films by director Erin OBrien. The Alma College softball team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament 17 times in the last 19 years—a dynasty that ranks among the best in NCAA Division III athletics. The Scots boast a 735-254 overall record during head coach Denny Griffin’s 24-year tenure at Alma.

30 Hour Famine

30 Hour Famine

Students at Alma College are starving to make a difference. They organized the 30 Hour Famine, an international youth movement sponsored by World Vision International, to raise money for food, clean water and other resources for impoverished people in developing countries. The students fasted for 30 hours to experience the hunger that a billion people in the world experience daily.
