Research Interests

The process of learning to teach elementary and middle school mathematics, as viewed through the lenses of sociocultural and anthropological theories, particularly the social construction of identity and knowledge; narrative analysis; theory and use of Complex Instruction for cooperative group work; the intersection of mathematics education and disability studies; learning to teach mathematics for social justice; equity and diversity issues in education; and teacher education across the professional curriculum.
