METRO DETROIT ROUNDTABLE

Our Mission

The Metro Detroit Round Table was formed in the summer of 1996 with the following mission:

  • Encourage and plan formal and informal communications and networking opportunities among Detroit-area alumni and friends
  • Assist current Alma students with career exploration and personal growth as they move toward graduation and careers
  • Promote regular dialog between alumni and Business Department faculty and between alumni and Student Development staff.

The Round Table also has been host to numerous receptions/speakers including:

  • Mort Crim, nationally known news anchor, radio host, author, and former Alma College Trustee
  • Living and Working in Detroit Series
  • David Glazier, Vice-president of business operations for the Detroit Tigers
  • Mary Kramer, Associate editor for Crain's Detroit Business
  • Tour of Comerica Park
  • Automotive Hall of Fame reception and tour
  • Detroit Zoological Park and Society
  • Tour and presentation at Greenfield Village
  • The Annual Maroon and Cream Gala in Detroit

Alma is one of seven Michigan colleges and universities to hold membership in the Omicron Delta Kappa Society, the national leadership society that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character. The College also has 19 other national departmental honor societies.
