The Order of Omega, a national honorary for Greek men and women, is attributed to Parker F. Enwright at the University of Miami in 1959. The Nu Gamma chapter was founded at Alma College in 1992.

The purpose of this organization is to recognize fraternity men and women who have achieved high scholastic performance and have attained positions of leadership on campus and in their Greek chapters. It is also this chapter's purpose to encourage and foster leadership skills through membership development activities as well as sponsoring speakers and programs on campus.

General membership in the Nu Gamma chapter of the Order of Omega is open to juniors and seniors involved in the Greek community. Scholastically, each member must have a CPA higher than the all-Greek CPA. Holding leadership positions in and outside of the Greek community are also a requirement for membership.
