Dues: $60 pre-active, $125 per semester for actives, $60 summer dues
Pledging Process: We have a six week pledging process with about 2 mandatory functions a week and 1 meeting every Sunday.

The Kappa Iota sorority is the only local sorority on Alma's campus. We have been around for over 80 years and because of that we have over 500 alumni sisters living in 48 states and over 11 countries around the world. The sisters of Kappa Iota are highly involved around campus. We have sisters in many different majors including Psychology, Communication, Women's Studies, English, Theatre, Art, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Music, and Education. We also have sisters in organizations such as MacCurdy House, Dance, Theatre, Creative Arts House, WQAC, Pride, Model UN, Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Choir.
Since we are a local sorority we are the only sorority on campus who can have parties throughout the year (we have them on Fridays) and a brother group. Our brother group consists of guys on campus we feel help and support the sorority as a whole. These men are allowed to wear our letters and can come to certain closed events that we host throughout the year.
Another aspect of being a local sorority is that our philanthropy is local. We host many events throughout the year in an effort to raise money, clothes, or other items to donate to our philanthropy, the Gratiot County Women's Aid Services. For example we host a clothing drive during women's week along with other women events and we also raise money through our open to campus formal, Luxury Liner. Our local philanthropy is not the only philanthropy we support. We also participate in events such as Greek Week, the AIDs walk, & Relay for Life.
